WELCOME TO ST. THOMAS:
Sunday, we will again be joined at our 8 am & 10:30 am morning services by Fr. Joe Sitts, retired priest from Longwood. At our 5pm service, retired priest Marnie Silk-Wright will be joining us. Please give them a St. Thomas welcome!
*Please Note: There will be NO Wednesday evening service until further notice.
NAME TAGS
We welcome all the new faces we have seen in our congregation this year. If you are a newcomer and wish to have a name tag, please sign the sheet in the Narthex. When the order is completed, your name tags will be placed on the magnetic board at the same spot. It would be helpful to our newcomers, if all of us would be more diligent in wearing our name tags. It is easier for us to remember one new name than for our newcomers to learn 100 at once!
We would like to ensure that our supply clergy are able to connect our faces with our names – please remember to wear your name tags through this transition period. If you need a nametag- please print your name on the request sheet provided in the narthex.
Notice to all STAFF & Group Leaders:
Please be sure to LOCK the doors when you leave the buildings on Sundays after our services are over. Vigilance is advised during our mid-week events as well.
MAUNDY THURSDAY SOUP & CRACKERS MEAL:
The Youth will be preparing a special Soup and Crackers Meal on Maundy Thursday, April 1st – all are invited! Come and enjoy this tasty meal, served beginning at 6 pm in the Parish Hall - just prior to the 7 pm Maundy Thursday H.E./ Foot-Washing church service. There will be three types of soup offered, with your choice of meat soups or vegetarian – we ask for any donations that you might be able to make in support of our St. Thomas Youth Group. They’ll be having Events & Fundraisers throughout the year…stay tuned!
(Note: EYC meets Sundays from noon - 2 pm.)
EASTER ALTAR FLOWERS:
Easter flowers (Sunday, April 4th) will be purchased with gifts from members of the parish, as memorials & thank offerings. It is our hope that donations received will be generous once more to enable our Altar Guild to cover increasing flower costs. Please fill out a pink Easter Flower intention sheet found in the pews. Print your intention & amount you wish to donate toward Easter flower costs (remember: our Easter Vigil @ 7 pm on April 3rd ushers in the season of Easter.) Mark “Easter Flowers” on your check’s memo and place your check & pink intention sheet in the Offertory Plate. Intention Deadline: March 28th - Palm Sunday.
RECTOR’S SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE:
Parish Surveys will be passed out to members attending 8 am, 10:30 am and 5 pm services THIS Sunday, March 7, 2010. If you cannot attend on the 7th – arrangements can be made through the church office to fill out surveys and return by March 14th.
A prayer for the search for our new rector:
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
THRIFT SHOP NEWS:
Thank you to every one of our volunteers for all your help, and to all our generous donors! Right now, we are especially in need of knick-knacks (also drinking glasses, cups, mugs and any and all sorts of bric-a-brac!)
GOT PICTURES?
M.O.S.T. (Men of St. Thomas) has begun a project to increase our understanding of the history of our church. Thanks to Kay Ikeler, we already have a wonderful written history, but we’re trying to expand on that to include pictures & artifacts from former years. If you have (or know of) any old photographs of former Rectors, or the church building, or other such items, (who knows what?) that might be displayed to help better comprehend the history of St. Thomas contact Rick Kiefer at 669-4622 or Al Spencer at 343-3888
All men are invited to this month’s meeting of the Men Of St. Thomas – they meet in the Parish Hall at 6 pm – come as you are for fellowship and great fun & food!

We meet weekly - Monday evenings in Wisdom Hall from 6 pm until? Every woman has an open invitation to join us. We’d love to see it grow into a larger group. Questions? Phone Nancy Conley 483-2947.
Year 2010 Flower Intention Chart
The new flower chart is now available on the usher stand in the Parlor so that you may select the Sunday you would like to donate flowers. To ensure that your intention is listed correctly in the bulletin - PLEASE fill out one of the green flower donor sheets that is located right by the sign-up chart. Place this slip in the offertory plate with your check or money for the flowers (or you may fill out your slip NOW and place it in the flowered tin box on the stand and send your money later). This is a great help to the office in communicating your wishes.
Fellowship Luncheon: Our Fellowship Luncheon is every 4th Wed. at Noon in our Parish Hall. Bring a dish if you wish - get to know other people & have a great lunch.
