NOVEMBER 2008 TIDINGS

Whew! First, I would like to thank all the people that helped with the Family Fun & Games Night. It was loads of work, but lots of fun too. I can honestly say we sent every child who attended home on a sugar high and with a bag full of goodies.

The youth group will be manning a story telling/childcare area and children’s book exchange/sale during the BAZAAR so that parents can drop their small children off while they shop for a little while. Any children’s books that you want to donate for kids to read to smaller children and sell or give to the kids would be welcome. We will also be selling desserts in the evening after the Bar-B-Que – so get your best recipes ready.

With the start of Advent and Thanksgiving in November we will be counting our blessings and focusing on how we can help others with food for food baskets and other services.

TIME CHANGE NOTES:

NOVEMBER 30 - Youth Group will not meet on November 30th because of Thanksgiving weekend travel.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed preparation during ADVENT.

NOTE: for the good of the whole group it is important that we maintain the age separation so that the discussions can be meaningful. Please call me if there are transportation issues that cause problems with this.

LOOKING AHEAD:  

Christmas Gift Sunday 

On Sunday December 7th, all ages of EYC will be meeting at YadaYada Pottery Studio in Mount Dora from 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Sorry, no parents are invited because the kids will be making presents for you. The cost is $25/per child to make a gift for mom & one for dad. If the cost is an issue, please let me know, we may be able to get some help to cover the cost. I will need a count as soon as possible of who will be joining us. 

We invite all kids ages 5-18 to participate in youth group every Sunday. Elementary age children meet from 3:30 – 4:45 PM & middle and high school age kids meet from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. We encourage the kids to attend and participate in the 5:00 PM service. Each participant must have a medical release, signed by a parent, before they can participate. They do not have to be a member of St. Thomas church.
